Discovery Groups

Discovery Groups

Discovery Groups are a popular way for larger congregations to strengthen their communities. These allow around 8-12 members or visitors to gather and discuss different topics throughout the year. Some discovery groups have been ongoing for years, others are set up to meet for a limited time and then to disband.

New members and visitors are welcome in all Discovery Groups!

Some months the actual meeting days will vary.
Please check with the leader of each Discovery Group for the actual meeting days.

"To 'listen' another's soul into a condition of disclosure and discovery may be almost the greatest service that any human being ever performs for another."   Douglas Steen as quoted in "Sacred Moments" by Linda Kavelin Popov

New Member Discovery Group: A Group for New Members during their first year

This group is a great way to learn more about UUism, learn from Kendyl Gibbons, our Senior Minister, and to make connections with other new members. It meets once a month after service. We provide a lunch and Kendyl leads the discussion on a different topic each month. You can only join during your first year after becoming a member, so don’t miss it!

Meets once a month at FUS, schedule provided upon becoming a member

Finding Your Passion Through Crafts & Hobbies

Skill level is not a concern to be a member of this group. We bring our own projects, share new ideas and skills, and enjoy both crafts and interesting discussions.
